Awet, part of Eruna~Consult, guides Eritrean youth into employment. Are you or do you know someone who might be interested? All Eritreans are welcome at Daadkr8 every Friday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Below you will find more information and the flyer in Tigrinya and Dutch. For more information, please call Awet at 06 8759 7151. There are many vacancies, yet not everyone has a job. Research by Statistics Netherlands (CBS) shows that newcomers who received a residence permit in 2014 still struggle to find suitable work after five and a half years. Only 41% have a job, of which 73% have part-time jobs and 84% have temporary contracts. This is remarkable, considering the large number of vacancies. Even a large group of Eritrean youth in Amsterdam Nieuw-West are unemployed. Join Eruna Awet Fesheye, an Eritrean key figure, founded Eruna~Consult to help Eritrean young people find work. Eruna~Consult offers support with various issues newcomers to the Netherlands face, such as contacting the municipality for registration, benefits and allowances, DigiD, the tax authorities (including allowances), health insurers, and other agencies. Eruna~Consult also helps with opening bank accounts, obtaining health insurance, and with housing issues, such as contacting housing associations and energy suppliers.
