SomAstel was founded on February 18, 2019. It is a foundation by and in collaboration with the Somali community. SomAstel represents the interests of and promotes the participation and integration of the Somali community and into Dutch society. SomAstel's main goal is to support the Somali community and give them a place in Dutch society. Our activities are not exclusively for Somalis; our doors are open to everyone. Women and children from different backgrounds often join as well. With our organization, we hope to contribute to greater participation and integration of the Somali community in Amsterdam-Amstelland. With information on fall prevention, dementia, informal care, aging in the Netherlands, etc., and moving together with Dance Connect.
